FAQs
Brake pads create friction against the brake rotors to slow and stop the vehicle when the brakes are applied.
Common signs can include squealing or grinding noises, reduced braking response, vibration while braking or visibly worn brake pad material.
Depending on the series, brake pads feature multi-layer shims and OE-matched slots and chamfers designed to help minimize noise, vibration and harshness.
Select series include stainless-steel hardware designed to resist corrosion and support proper pad engagement and function.
Each series is engineered for different driving demands. Standard Series covers everyday braking needs, Premium Series adds enhanced friction materials and OE-focused features, Black Series features advanced OE-matched friction formulations for minimal noise and dust, while Work Force Series is engineered for high-energy braking conditions with a heavy-duty friction formulation.
Brake pads are used with disc brake systems, where they press against a rotor to create friction and slow the vehicle. Brake shoes are used with drum brake systems, where they press outward against the inside of a brake drum. Both create the friction needed to slow or stop your vehicle, but they work with different types of braking systems.
